Visit to Regent Seven Seas Voyager – Sunday 9 September 2007 by Tim Wolstenholme, Louise Jackson, Susan Acott
We travelled to Liverpool and boarded the ship at the new cruise ship terminal which is adjacent to the famous Liver Building. Registration at the dockside was efficient and we were welcomed onboard by Eric Williamson from Sevenseas Cruises. A short champagne reception in the Observation Lounge on deck 11 was hosted by the Norwegian Captain. The seventy or so guests were then divided into four groups for a tour of the ship which lasted approximately one hour.
All parts of the ship reflected the high quality of the Regent product and it was plain from the way our guide spoke that they cater very much for the seasoned discerning traveller. We were able to inspect three suites – Deluxe, Penthouse and Seven Seas Aft. The ship is all balcony and the ‘basic’ suite size is 356 sq ft excluding the balcony. All accommodation is presented to the highest standards with large marble bathrooms and walk in closets. Guests can request their meals to be served in their suites if they prefer not to go to one of the four main restaurants.

Regent place considerable emphasis on the cuisine and our four course lunch in the Signatures Restaurant was a fine demonstration of gourmet food at sea. Service was impeccable and the dishes were both imaginative and beautifully cooked.

Three hours on the ship served to provide us with a glimpse of an elegant and sophisticated world where only the highest standards are acceptable.
