Description: A modern holiday resort which was rebuilt after an earthquake in 1960. Most of the best equipped hotels are towards the south at Founty Beach.
Sightseeing and excursions: Fish market, Kasbah and cultural museums; Taroudant and Tafraout; Atlas Mountains.
Beaches: Main town beaches are ½ ml south of the cruise terminal with wide expanses of dunes 1 ml further.
Shopping: Covered souk (market) with local handicrafts, spices, textiles and leather goods. Bartering is expected at the street stalls and at the many shops in the central tourist area.
