Navigator Of The Seas by Hannah

Ship - Navigator of the Seas
Line - Royal Caribbean International
Date - 20th October 2009
I had never cruised with Royal Caribbean before, so it was a great opportunity to experience one of their ships first hand.
After flying from Manchester with Monarch Airlines to Malaga, I was transferred to the port to join the magnificent Navigator of the Seas for 5 nights cruising in the Western Mediterranean
By far the largest ship I have ever cruised on, Navigator is 138,000 tonnes and carries 3114 passengers. She has 15 decks, a rock climbing wall, ice-skating rink, golf simulator, and mini-golf course, plus all of the normal activities you expect to see on a cruise ship.
When I stepped on board I was overwhelmed by the sheer size of the ship and her outstanding onboard facilities.
My cabin was a PR Grade Promenade View Stateroom, which commanded a fantastic view of the Royal Promenade. The cabin was quite spacious at 167 square feet; the only negative was that my cabin was directly above the Two Poets Pub, which had Irish music playing until about 1.30 am.
The Royal Promenade had a host of shops, bars and cafes lining the street, and also a parade most nights! The promenade looked brilliant when lit up in the evenings.
The food onboard was delicious, and there was such a choice! During the day the informal Windjammer Café was just the place for a buffet lunch or snack. I dined on First Sitting in the Nutcracker Dining room, which is a three tier dining room, very was elegant in style. The service was excellent also, and nothing was too much trouble.
Other facilites on board included:
- Nightclub ( The Dungeon)
- Casino Royale
- Metropolis Theatre
- Johnny Rockets
- Full size sports court
- Day spa and fitness centre with indoor pool
Overall I loved the ship and all the facilities: It definitely had the "Wow Factor"!
One thing to bear in mind for these short cruises out of Malaga is that they are extremely popular with Spanish Clients who outnumberd British passengers on this sailing by around 2,500 to 450 - however this could not detract from the fabulous destinations and stunning facilities available on this magnificent cruise!
