FULL Day City Tour with Lunch
Any visit to ISTANBUL is an unforgettable experience. With its unique skyline of pencil-thin minarets and a magnificent series of domes and half-domes topping each mosque along the Bosphorus, the setting is spectacular. Founded in the 17th century BC by the Greek, Byzas, the city once known as Byzantium and then Constantinople still lives up to the exotic label of ‘Gateway to the East'. During a two-night stay, choose from a selection of tours that visit the Suleymaniye Mosque, Santa Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque. You can also enjoy traditional nights of Turkish entertainment.

6 Piraeus, Greece
PIRAEUS is Greece's largest port and our gateway to Athens. Celebrating hosting the 2004 Olympic Games, explore this bustling city including the new Olympic Stadium, the Parthenon and the famous Acropolis and Evzones on parade at the tomb of the unknown warrior. See remains from ancient times including the Olympian Zeus Temple and Hadrian's Arch.

8 Messina, Italy
Just across from the ‘toe' of Italy lies Sicilian MESSINA, overlooking the strait where, according to ancient mythology, Odysseus faced Scylla and Carybdis. Throughout the Middle Ages, European knights flocked to Messina, a key staging post on the way to the Crusades. Despite the earthquake of 1908 and intensive bombing during WWII, the city has risen from the ashes. At noon, be sure to be standing near the astronomical clock next to the cathedral: a host of animated figures come to life as the bells peel over the city.
07:00
9 Civitavecchia, Italy
Civitavecchia is the gateway to the ancient city of Rome, a mesmerising capital strewn with historical, architectural and religious landmarks such as the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, the Coloseum and Pantheon. Alternatively, visit the haunting tombs of Tarquinia, found in an Etruscan Necropolis, which also contains spectacular paintings dating back to the 2nd century BC.
09:00 18:30
10 Ajaccio, Corsica
The subject of a lengthy tug of war between France and the Genoese over the centuries, the island of Corsica was eventually sold to the French in 1769, the same year Ajaccio's most famous son was born. This beautiful Mediterranean town will provide plenty of Napoleonic echoes, from his birthplace, the Maison Bonaparte, to the cathedral where he was baptised, or statues of the great man, such as that found in the Place Foch with its pastel-coloured houses.

11 At Sea
12 Almeria, Spain
The city of ALMERIA stands at the centre of the bay of the same name, surrounded by mountain ranges that help shelter it from the north winds. From Almeria you can visit Granada, so blessed with architectural and historical splendour that the entire city has been declared a national monument, mostly in homage to the Alhambra, a 14th century castle fortress like no other. Set high on a mountain spur below the towering Sierra Nevada, the oldest part is the Alcazaba, with an impressive courtyard marked with imposing towers.
07:00 18:00
13 Gibraltar, Spain
The Rock of GIBRALTAR, together with its counterpart on the African side, Mt. Abyla, were known in ancient times as the Pillars of Hercules. In 711AD, the Moors landed here under General Tarik, who named the rock Jebel al-Tarik, which in course of time became Gibraltar. In 1462 Spain recovered Gibraltar from the Arabs, but during the War of the Spanish Succession in 1704, it was taken by British troops. Under the Treaty of Utrecht in 1713 it was formally assigned to Britain.

14 At Sea
15 La Coruna
Unique, glass-fronted balconies! ‘Galerias’ are the dazzling façade of La Coruña – Galicia’s ‘Crystal City’. On an elevated headland the world’s oldest working lighthouse ‘Torre de Hercules’ is witness to a fascinating maritime past. Footprints of Christian pilgrims lead to the third most important place in Christendom. The Illustrious shrine of Santiago de Compostela dedicated to St James – recognised by UNESCO, is one of the world’s great cities, and undoubtedly the jewel in Galicia’s historic and medieval crown.
